Does anyone want a horse swop
      #3339758 - 24/07/2008 22:29

I have come to the conclusion that there is absolutely nothing wrong with my horse apart from the fact that she and I are too alike (lazy, check, easily distracted, check, capable but dislikes flatwork, check...you get the picture) - I love her to bits and had a great ride today then we were schooling and we both tend to throw a polite paddy with each other at the same time and then we know we will both take the pressure off and just pootle around for a while instead Talk about personality clash, but it isn't a clash, we are just too alike LOL!

She is very nice, 16.2hh, pink papered Oldenburg, jumps, dressages, hunts and hacks and crosses country like a demon but is incredibly polite, safe and lovely to ride...

So anyone want her? In exchange I would like a version of her but a gelding who I can boss around and who likes to be dominated and who I don't want to sock in the gob for trying to get out of working - we have too much oestrogen between us even tho she is very unmarish

I shan't hold my breath

Send her to me. You can have Corroy (you just need to cut off your legs) and keep her STRICLTY on regumate and she will do anything for you

Yep, I would! I think you would think P was a pony in comparison! Partoow makes her look well capable of Intermediate dressage, she has jumped round a 1.20m course at home and I am sure if you scream at her enough a bounce combo of pimples and great yawning trakhener will be noooooooo probs

I like my men to do as they are told, Horse does this with just an occasional rolling of the eyes and tutting at his idiot mother!

I would swop you but I have 2 mares so you probably wouldnt like them! Personally I prefer mares.
I would swop my fat one for a thinner one!

I HAVE had some lovely mares, but that was when I was riding 3+ horses per day and I had more time to be patient I reckon!

But I can't ride even half as well as Partoow, and have never jumped round a 1.20 course in my life, at home or in a comp....the screaming part I can do however!

Thinking about it, Ive probably ridden more rude, gobby geldings than mares, but at least you KNEW they would be consistantly obnoxious!!!
The first nasty fall I had was off a mare, but then the same mare was also the first horse that I ever jumped HUGE on!!!!

Have you time!!!!!!
had surgery for spavins just started work and stood on a 4 inch nail right up to laminae
2 weeks later bruised heels
2 weeks later splint form walking out on hard ground(for spavin)
3 weeks later mare kicked him in knee above splint
1 week later cold hosing and yo told me I had to tie him to post the post was rotten he spooked and had 8 ft 4 by 4 hanging on end of lead rope( he had quick releas lead rope which didnt work)
1 week later today cold hosing again and he wouldnt pass hose after hosing so I tied him loosely to stable block again spooked whole panel came of he runs round field with block of timber and nails .I feel awful the yo had changed the twine we always use easy break fine twine and he had put thicker one on and I hadnt noticed.apparently another horse had yanked at it day before so panel must have been loose.I feel like a very bad mum.Poor boy is costing me a fortune imn money and heartache.last year wasnt much better either.
Now off to buy quick release equities.
