Be interested in having regional HHO schooling sessions? One definately at the beginning of the season, and one midway through? XC would be best as there'll be open space, but smaller groups for SJ / Arena hire would be feasable [sp] as well. The thing with XC schooling is, once you get a certain amt of riders, the hire charge usually drops, and we don't have to stay in one big group.
Just thought I'd see other peoples views on it before doing any arranging

Was thinking about splitting the regions as follows :
Derbs, Lincs, Notts, Leics, Rut [1] Northants, Hunts, Cambs, Beds [2] Norfolk, Suffolk [big counties] [3] Ox, Bucks, Berks [4] Herts, Middlesex, Essex [5] Surrey, Sussex, Kent [6] Wilts, Hamps, Dorset [7] Somerset, Devon, Cornwall [8] Herefords, Worcs, Warks, Gloucs [9] Shrops, Staffs, Cheshire [10] Yorks, Lancs [11] Durham, Northum, Westmorland, Cumberland [12]
Done that by looking here : http://newfamilyhistoryengland.googlepages.com/EnglandCountyMap.jpg/EnglandCountyMap-full.jpg
obviously if your on a border of counties, say Gloucs [9] and it's easier for you to get to Ox [4] then by all means, do. It's up to the individual really.
But that gives you a basic idea. Anyone better at geography, feel free to rearrange areas. But that's a basic idea, and I think workable. Obviously if you really want to go to a session, but it's out of your area, then fine, but make sure you let the organiser know Will have to sort out organisers for each area etc

Think it would be a great idea but West Mids is not on list. lol. I know we can go to any. Early season would be lovely. Now need some good places to go . I say Aston le Walls for a xc one.. Also the uk chasers near Melton Mowbray is great [ Aylesbury ,I think] depends if we have a trainer as at Aston ,I am sure Nigel will do it . Lots of room and jumps at Weston Lawns for a show jumping one and could have lunch meet in canteen.

Well done for beginning the organisation process!! Such a good idea i think.
People form each region can suggest places and trainers etc. There are quite a few BE places in south east although fitting in around events will probably be the biggest thing mid-season, particularly if people (such as me) find it tricky to get time off work for mid-week things. Trainer wise i'm sure mine would help out in SE. She's ridden at Advanced and is a fab teacher, plus doesn't cost the earth.
Oooo exciting

*** ADMIN, PLEASE STICKY ***
Carthorse - West mids I'm sure is on there, or are you thinking wales? I know the melton UK Chasers you're thinking of - Aylesford. There's a video of me there on my youtube - fantastic water complex. Aston - Le - Walls, Milton Keynes, Keysoe are all viable ones for this area. There's Tweseldown, I'm sure Chepstow do schooling too? There's an eventing centre nr Cheltenham - I went there when I tried P, that was v good, but not a lot there, or much room.
If we were looking at having trainers involved, obviously costs would rise, and would have to see if there could be morning and afternoon sessions, and whether a trainer would be willing to do two like that. Plus it allows flexibility for those who work! I know milton keynes have two resident trainers available for the XC. But what we must also remember is that there are riders on here who compete to a high level, and maybe they'd be willing to take sessions ? In return for a fee, or a few bottles
Oooo I'm all excited!! If you want to be an Area Rep, put a note on here saying which area, and I'll try and get admin to sticky this!

Yeah Id take part, though not sure how productive it would be as G would find it VERY exciting!! Aylesford is great but not fantastic for group schooling IMO as too spread out.... Newton is good though, and used by Lucinda Green for her clinics

I forgot about Newton K! Had a PC sesh there with Georgina Anstey couple of years back, is v nice, but it was v wet when we went We do our PC XC rally's at Shoby [Aylesford] usually, and don't find it too much of a problem - it's the instructors on foot that slow you down imo.
But yes Newton for Area 1 as well.

That sounds like a brilliant idea I'm in West Sussex - I always see clinics that I'd love to do but that are too far away! - Holly-Jane's Lucinda Green clinic one such example I've been hoping to get some more help jumping-wise from a BE trainer (or experience equivalent) and it would be fab to go on other's recommendations and hopefully get costs down by doing it together - and meeting some new people in the process

jxd we'd be in the same area as i'm East Sussex. There are lot's of places near us good for schooling, Tweseldown, Chilham, Brightling, Nurstead court etc. I keep my horse on my trainers yard and we normally go schooling together so i'm sure she'll get involved too. She's not too expensive which is good!

This is a great idea!!
Agree about there being some very experienced riders on here that may help eg Baydale, Kerilli etc????
Maybe some of the Coaching and Development trainers (BE trainers) would be interested in this. My trainer is part of this and says that if people can organise venues etc so they may be worth a call?
Totally agree re Aston and Weston Lawns, Carlton in Beds also do xc schooling!

I think this is a good idea For places in the South West, we have Pontispool and Stockland Lovell as the obvious, and i'm sure there's others.
