He looks soooo sweet!!! and i LOVE his colour!!!

Can i just give you one little bit of advice? A Rugby Pelham needs a snaffle head bit, as you'd have for a double bridle

We were sodden, got home and both soaked in the bath and went to bed. How on earth you managed to stay so pristine in the pouring rain i'll never know, ours tack was sopping... mad animal refused to load on the way home... whilst we were getting wetter and wetter...

R commented on the way out of the ring that she wanted to ride on a "big horse like the lady on the black daddy horse " (she calls all big horses daddy horses)

I think she has some growing to do before she moves up from her 10hh one...

and my daughter's pony's headcollar isnt done up to BHS standard either...

funny how no judge has ever commented on this? T'would be just pure fluke or luck if OP had just been doing showing for the last 12 months, but in 30 years?? even funnier, in that pic he was placed 3rd in a huge M&M class under one of the most scrupulous of judges

I'm not saying your advice is wrong, not at all, it's just that why can't anyone post a pic here without someone coming along and nit picking it?

Judges arn't there to comment on the way a pony is tacked up!
And neither am i, so you carry on just the way you are.. Sorry for bothering

I didn't see it as nit picking - just friendly advice! You can never stop learning with horses...... and that isn't meant to sound patronising!

A Rugby Pelham can be used on a double or on a single bridle, dependant on which action you require. So yes, it was right, but then so is the way in the pic.

No, you never stop learning, but having been an instructor for the last xx amount of years and having done showing at National level (not to mention actually being a judge ) I should imagine OP knows how to tack a pony up...
