Graduated from Hartpury summer 2007 from the BSc (Hons) Equine Science. Feel free to ask questions
Question for you...why are you going to do an Equine Science course and not a biology degree or something more 'general' rather than specialist equine?!?

Hi Aimeelou,
I'm heading into my 3rd year at Hartpury UWE, [BioVet] & allthough I would also like to know [as someone else asked] why an equine spec course?? You said BSC/Fd.Sc, but I would advise you to go for the BSC to be honest if you can possibly help it.
Hartpury is a wonderfull place to study, just make sure, as your the same age as me, to steer yourself well clear of Legends bar on a Thurs night, its crawling with FE's [The collage under 18's], who try to chat you up, Very scary! Make sure you join lots of clubs, make use of all the fab sports facilities we have on campus and maybe do some weekend riding [and deffo opt for Equitation in your moduals, gives you a nice relaxing subject thats a breeze to pass!]. Oh and most of all, make sure you get yourself into snow/summer balls, their AWESOME!! Gloucester is a nice city [little bit chavy at times!], Wed's nights are student nights, nice and cheap and Liquid club is the place to be! Are you living on campus? Taking a horse?? Hope this has been a little helpfull cheerio Jessi x

Just some more Hartpury experience info:
Liquid on a wednesday...oh the memories!!! lol!! Summer balls are better than snow balls unless you go to the snow ball at Cheltenham (Dirty Dozen Ball). Sports facilities are awesome...I was a very regular gym go-er when I was there and its well worth the subscription (although I knew someone who worked there so just wandered in lol!! Think its about £80 for the year. Legends Bar is ALWAYS full of FE's...thats life I'm afraid...and if there are any pajama parties or beach wear parties going on in there it gets absolutly rammed with the under 18's dressed in less than I wear...which isn't alot lol!!! Any excuse to get their kit off I think! haha!! I was in Limbury 8 when I was in my first year...brilliant halls. Oh and although they say you 'might' be able to get in halls in your second year...you won't, so start trying to find somewhere for the following year nice and early to get a good place.

I am currently at Hartpury going into my 3rd year. Legends Bar as of this September has been made University over 18 students only. So the events will not be full of FE's as previously mentioned on this page! If you ahve any other questions please don't hesitate to ask

and another thing, I know of second year students who live in halls, if you get your application in on time, they will try and accommodate you.

I am starting my first year in Equine Sports Science. I am a mature student and can't wait to get studying.
Anyone else studying Equine Sports Science?
