FULL INFO:

We are looking into holding a CASTRATION / GELDING day on MONDAY 21st MAY 2012, commencing approx 9am.
This will be held at a suitable location between Bridgend and Cardiff with easy access to M4/A48
(location to be confirmed based on quantity of gelds to be done = we need to know we have the amount of stables/space available, ideally we would like the facility for 24 hours, but this is not looking possible at present, so ideally a minimum of 5 hours after operation (as long as the geld is without complications).

*The cost will be in the region of 100 for a standard gelding operation. If your horse requires extra sedation or tetanus injection, then the cost would increase slightly to 150. (If a retained testicle or other issues were found the cost and also the surgery involved would need to be re-evaluated).
The operations will be carried out by specialist equine vets who have a wealth of experience and dedication.

Please PM us in confidence, if you are interested in attending and how many horses you would bring.
Sadly due to time-wasters or attempts to corrupt this initiative, we are asking for a deposit at time of booking your horse so it shows commitment and genuine applications. This would be 50.
If there is any reason why you are unable to attend on the date, we will book you on the next available castration date.
If you need transport, we would be able to offer this, with fuel costs paid by you (unless we are able to gain sponsorship).

This is a NON-PROFIT campaign! We are not here to make any money - we are here to promote the health and management of the horses.
If anyone would like to contribute to the campaign, we would love to be able to provide advertising posters to shops, sponsorship, media publicity, transport costs to those without means of travelling their horse etc.
Ultimately, we want to make this a success and available to anyone/anywhere.

Please support this ethical and very necessary procedure for the boys (ahem, horses) ;-)
We are working with local vet's who will offer the castration at an affordable rate to promote this campaign which will make the lives of these horses easier, safer and healthier.

We would like to plan these initiative days on a regular basis and expand throughout Wales, but it all has to start at one place - at this first event.
