    Liebling II returns to Carl Hester to retire [plus his career in pictures]

    NAtional Dressage Championships 19th Sept 09 National Dressage GCarl Hester has announced (January 2014) that Liebling II (Lenny) has come back to the UK to retire at his yard.

    The 17-year-old dark bay by Lorentin — who started his career with Anna Ross Davies — competed with 5 different riders at international grand prix.
    He finished 10th at the European Championships in 2007 with Anna and went on to help secure team silver at the European Championships 2009 and World Equestrian Games in 2010 with Carl.

    Farewell to Lionheart: H&H looks back at his career in pictures

    Barbury International CIC** June 2012William Fox-Pitt’s London 2012 eventer Lionheart has been put down after colic surgery.
    The Olympic team silver medal-winning gelding was sold to America in November to be ridden by US eventer Allison Springer, who is based in Florida for the winter eventing season.

    The son of champion sire Montjeu had 21 starts and won 9 races, including 6 Group Ones. He is the only racehorse to have won 3 Coronation Cups with career earnings of £4.95m.
