    1. Equimania aims to make showing a fun experience for everybody and states: “We pride ourselves on providing quality judges, rosettes, sashes and garlands”. They hold a small handful of shows each year and the next one you need to put in your diary is 22-23 October at Quainton Stud in Buckinghamshire.

    2. There are no less than 17 National Pony Society (NPS) Summer Championship Show qualifiers at Equimania. Classes range from mountain & moorland (M&M) in-hand, to lead-rein, native junior ridden and many more.

    3. Are you the proud owner of a coloured horse or pony? If so, CHAPS (or the Coloured Horse & Pony Society) classes could be just the thing for you. Whether in-hand or ridden, successful, fully registered combinations will qualify for the CHAPS (UK) Championship Show. But if you’re not registered with CHAPS, don’t worry as you can still compete in the qualifier.

    4. The British Show Pony Society (BSPS) have a select number of classes and qualifiers at Equimania for tiny tots and smaller riders, including qualifiers for the BSPS Summer Championships.

    5. Palomino horses and ponies haven’t been forgotten either thanks to the British Palomino Society (BPS). There are in-hand and ridden classes and an open cream dilute class which is open to palomino, cremello, buckskin, perlino, lemon and white, spotted palominos…the list goes on. But basically if your horse or pony possesses a cream gene, you can get involved.

    6. Most people involved with horses will have dreamt of competing in the main ring at the Royal International Horse Show (RIHS) at Hickstead. Equimania has a number of early 2017 qualifiers for the big show.

    7. Do you want to ride at Olympia? If so, then the Anthony Evans SSADL home produced series (SSADL) could be the answer. This is the only showing series that caters exclusively for home produced senior ponies and horses with the Grand Final Championship at Olympia — the stuff that dreams are made of.

    8. If you’re a fan of jumping, there is a selection of working hunter classes to get your teeth into, one of which plays host to an RIHS qualifier.
