How to get there

Central to Devon and Cornwall, we are located one mile off the A30 on the A388, on the Devon/Cornwall border. The event is half a mile from Launceston town centre on the A388, opposite Launceston Rugby Club at Polson.

What the organisers say

Launceston Horse Trials is now in its third successful year. With an event set in the idyllic location of the Tamar Valley on Cornish pastureland, we offer natural water crossing features created by the river Kensey and the backdrop of the medieval Launceston Castle, which adds to the character of this beautiful location and event.

We have this year a new and improved showjumping arena and a new cross-country course-designer in Lucy Wiegersma. Our fence designers/builders this year are the renowned Willis Bros.

Our already acclaimed, excellent dressage arenas will once again be situated on the well-kept pitches of Launceston Rugby Club.

We look forward to welcoming all riders of wide-ranging abilities and offer classes at BE100open, BE100, BE90open, BE90 and BE80(T). Please come along and enjoy the experience. We are also pleased to announce our prize funds have once again grown
this year.

What the riders say

Dressage & showjumping — “The dressage is held on lovely, flat, big warm-up and arenas, with friendly stewards.” “The showjumping is held on a slight slope with the cross-country running above it.” “The warm-up was small, but I liked how they had a filler in one warm-up fence which helped a young horse.”

Cross-country — “Perfect for first-timers and young horses. A nicely built, flowing course which helped to build confidence all the way round.” “Was a fairly easy course at all levels.” “Lovely going in all phases and coped well in the hot weather.”
