    How to get there

We are well signed off the A96.

    What the organisers say

We were very happy with the format for the two events last year as we had such excellent feedback. Therefore we are not making any major changes and running it as everyone enjoys most.

Both events include an open intermediate as well as novice, BE100, BE90 and BE80(T). Arena events will be held at both fixtures and, in June, there will be a fun day with activities for all the family.

Dressage and showjumping will be in the usual places with flat dressage arenas on grass and a big grass arena for showjumping, accompanied by lots of decoration and atmosphere. There are
large, flat warm-up areas for all classes.

Colin Hexley is the course-designer for the showjumping and there is a 50x50m warm-up ring close to the arena. Every phase is within walking distance of the main showground.

For the cross-country, which is designed by Polly Lochore — with influence from her sons! — a lot of work goes into keeping the courses different for each event. There are hills and a large variety of fences, which ensures an excellent educational outing for all levels.

A huge number of volunteers help enormously to make these events what they are — we aim to give everyone who comes the maximum amount of fun in these glorious surroundings.

    What the riders say

Dressage & showjumping — “Dressage is held on flat, well-presented ground.” “There is plenty of room for warming up.” “Set in a lovely, quiet location away from the excitement of the showjumping and cross-country.” “The showjumping is held in the main arena, with walkways to and from arenas, and there is a good car park with on-site stables.” “Huge warm-up and main showjumping arena, but it is on a slope.” “Also quite close to the cross-country, which can be exciting on a hot horse!”

Cross-country — “Very hilly cross-country, but at every event the course changes.” “They go to a lot of effort to dress the course and maintain the track.” “Well-drained land and suitable for first-timers, but a fit horse is required due to the hills.” “Very educational for young horses, but challenging due to the terrain.”
