What the organisers say

The showjumping courses are designed by Stephen Renouard. Cross-country courses designed by Mark Phillips and built by the Willis Bros. Event secretary Holly Farr.

What the riders say
Dressage & showjumping — “The dressage for the novices is a long way from the main event — make sure to take a bike or get acquainted with the helpful buggy system.” “Novice arenas flat and well spaced, and the warm-up areas are slightly restricted, but make the most of the space and flat ground available.” “The dressage for the two- and three-star has lots of atmosphere and distractions, especially if the cross-country is running at the same time. “The showjumping in the main arena is a great experience in the main class and is always a well-built course with plenty of combinations and up to height.”
Cross-country — “Ground is on the firm side but usually has good grass cover, and can take a lot of rain as it’s chalky soil.” “Fantastic viewing course for spectators/owners.” “The tracks are all up to height and not for a first-time run at a new level. They ride well but horses have a lot to take in and take on, especially on the cross-country, such as the two water complexes.”
