Eventer Zara Phillips last week received the MBE she had been awarded in the New Year Honours from her grandmother The Queen.

Zara, who won gold at the World Equestrian Games last year and was crowned BBC sports personality of the year, is the first senior royal to receive such an honour.

“I am absolutely delighted to have received an MBE,” Zara told H&H. “Being involved with a ceremony like this and actually receiving an award for services to equestrianism is an amazing experience and a fantastic honour — especially as I received the award from my grandmother.”
