Yogi trains the trainers

  • Instructors and eventing enthusiasts will welcome Yogi Breisner to the BHS Instructors Convention

Eventing enthusiasts can look forward to gaining expert advice from Yogi Breisner, one of the top eventing trainers in the UK, at this year’s BHS Instructors’ Convention at Solihull RC, West Midlands on 21 October.

Yogi Breisner, who was chef d’equipe for the British three-day event team at the Sydney Olympics in 2000, will be sharing his expertise in dressage, show jumping and cross-country with the audience at this annual event.

Yogi, British Eventing’s performance manager, was a regular member of the Swedish three-day event team, winning team gold and placed fourth individually at 1983 European Championships. He has been in the top 10 at Badminton on four occasions, and was one of the top 10 event riders in the world for four years.

Yogi’s extensive experience intraining horse and their riders covers all disciplines, including national hunt racing, with Henrietta Knight, Kim Bailey and Nicky Henderson among the trainers who regularly send their racehorses – and young jockeys – for schooling over jumps.

The event, which counts as a refresher course for the BHS register of instructors, is open to all, with tickets costing from £20 to £30.

For tickets contact Charlotte Nelson at the BHS on (tel: 01926 707820).
