Yogi Breisner gets new role

  • The England football team is not the only one to announce a Swedish national coach this week.

Yogi (Goran) Breisner, who already gained plaudits for his first year as the Lottery funded British event team performance manager in Sydney, has been appointed national performance manager by the British Horse Trials Association, with the remit of co-ordinating all coaching for all levels and age groups.

Yogi originally came to Britain in the 1970s and was based with compatriot Lars Sederholm at his famous Waterstock House Training Centre in Oxfordshire, from which he competed internationally with his chesnut Ultimus.

After retiring from competition riding, Yogi turned his attention to racing and used his competition riding skills to help a number of Lambourn trainers with the jumping technique of their chasers.

He returned to the eventing world earlier this year with his British team role.
