Pippa Funnell in action at Equus

  • Visitors to Equus — The Horse Event can look forward to gleaning top tips from top event rider Pippa Funnell, who will be demonstrating the techniques which have taken her to the pinnacle of the eventing tree.

As well as being the first rider to complete the Rolex Grand Slam, Pippa is also the only rider to have won two European championships back-to-back on the same horse.

Recently voted “Sportswoman of the Year” by the Sunday Times, there is no doubt that Pippa’s eventing demonstration will be a top attraction at the event.

Sarah Cartwright of the event’s organisers TJW said: “Pippa will be sharing the tips and techniques that have made her one of the most successful female event riders of her time. Visitors to Equus will certainly be inspired and motivated to achieve their goals after watching this world champion.”

The three-day show, which takes place from 16-18 April at ExCeL, in the heart of London Docklands, is being sponsored by IPC Media, publishers of Horse & Hound Online, Horse & Hound, HORSE and Eventing.

Fiona Dent, publishing director for the titles, says: “EQUUS is about sharing equestrian knowledge with riders of all abilities and encouraging greater enjoyment of our sport, and so we are delighted to support EQUUS 2004.”

The event will include performances by a number of top riders, as well as world-class displays, demonstrations and clinics plus the latest in equestrian products.
