Mark Todd bids for a place in Express Eventing final


  • Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials winner Mark Todd has announced he will compete in the Express Eventing Series opening qualifier at the Bolesworth Castle Showjumping Classic on Saturday 11 June.

    Among others, Toddy will compete against winner of the inaugural Express Eventing Oliver Townend and three times winner of the Hickstead Eventing Grand Prix, Gary Parsonage, at the Cheshire event.

    All will be hoping to qualify for a place in the final at the Horse of the Year Show at Birmingham’s LG Arena in October.

    Stephen Renouard, equestrian director of Express Eventing, said: “The field of entrants further endorses the new format which worked so well in 2010, and shows that the riders trust and believe in this great sport. It will certain make for some great competition on the day.”

    Nina Barbour who runs the Bolesworth Showjumping Classic said: “We’re very excited that some of the best event riders in the world have including Eventing legend Mark Todd have chosen Bolesworth as their preferred qualifier for the Express Eventing Series.

    “We are thrilled to be presenting a truly world class spectacle.”
