Scottish regional dressage championships

  • Jo Barry and the stunning five-year-old Vivaldi V danced their way to an impressive 75.12% Dodson & Horrell Open Novice victory, then took the NEW Equine Wear Open Elementary at the Scottish regional championships.

Second to Jo in both classes was Lee McKendry with the six-year-old gelding Udonis. Lee’s other horse, the German-bred Gacela, won the Saracen Horse Feeds Advanced Medium, despite the heavens opening as they turned up the centre line.

Hampton’s Ace and Louise Richards gained victory in the novice restricted, ahead of Selina Errington and the Irish-bred Fred. Vicki Crichton took the NFU Mutual Prelim on her 10-year-old O’Mare BW. Second place went to Pauline Gilbert and Rascalion.

Janey Russell and Westpoint Fascination won the elementary restricted, while Corrina Wyse and Riva claimed the Biotal Equine Gold Medium Restricted section. Joanna Jackson and Roberto led the open equivalent from start to finish.

Jayne Richie and Akkropolis took the honours in the Bates Intermediaire Regional Championship, while Susan Dunlop and Leon IV were second.
