National Dressage Championships gain new sponsor


  • British Dressage has announced that Mercedes-Benz is to be the new title sponsor of this year’s National Dressage Championships.

    The Mercedes-Benz National Dressage Championships 2001 will take place from the 21 – 23 September at the National Agricultural Centre, Stoneleigh, Warwicks.

    The prestigious motor manufacturer, which will continue as official vehicle supplier to the Blenheim Petplan International Horse Trials, is said tohave been keen to broaden its involvement with equestrian sport and, sponsorship of the National Dressage Championships presented an ideal opportunity.

    The Mercedes-Benz National Dressage Championships 2001 will see the cream of British dressage riders competing for the coveted title of national champion, currently held by Peter Storr.

    This year riders will compete in arenas named after the E-Class, M-Class and C-Class Mercedes-Benz models from which the judges will appraise their performances.

    As part of its title sponsorship commitment Mercedes-Benz will also provide hospitality, owners prizes and the opportunity for owners, riders and spectators to inspect the latest models from the Mercedes-Benz stable.

    Mercedes-Benz’s involvement with equestrian sport began three years ago when it first became the official vehicle supplier to the Blenheim Petplan International Horse Trials.
