Isabell Werth on the move

  • Olympic gold medallist Isabell Werth is moving her training base in Germany after more than 13 years

Olympic gold medallist Isabell Werth announced at the Hannover CDI that she is to relocate her horses to the yard of former German team chef d’equipe Madeleine Winter-Schulze.

For the past 13 years, Isabell and her horses have been based with her trainer Dr Uwe Schulten-Baumer, who will now travel to train Isabell at her new base.

Isabell, who qualified as a lawyer just 18 months ago, has also decided to leave her job due to the difficulties of combining two demanding careers and will concentrate on her dressage career.

Her horse FRH Anthony, with whom she contested this year’s European championships will be relocating to the yard in Wedemark, as well as the six-year-old Satchmo and the seven- year-old Richard Kimble.
