Jack Kidd set for polo spectacular

Britain’s highest goal arena polo match ever will take place at this year’s British Open show Jumping Championships from 6 – 9 April. Two teams of professional polo players, including Jack Kidd, Tim Bown and Jamie Morrison are preparing their top string of polo ponies earlier than usual to be ready for the event.
Arena polo appeared at the British Open for the first time last year. Two invitational teams from across the country came to Sheffield’s Hallam FM Arena to show the 26,000 visitors why arena polo is such an exiting spectator sport. The demonstration was a great success and the organisers have included an arena polo competition every day in this year’s schedule.
Both teams will consist of three professional players to ensure the highest standard of play with maximum entertainment for spectators. The competition will take place over all four days, with two performances on the Saturday. During each performance there will be two chukkas of play with a final during Sunday’s British Open Championship performance.
Jodie and Jemma Kidd will be attending the Open to support their favourite team and there are also plans for The British Open Players Polo Party in association with Kidd Polo (organisers of the Players Marquee at the Cartier International) to take place on the Saturday night in Sheffield.
