Hunt facts: Eggesford

Hunt: first hunted by Hon Newton Fellowes in 1798. Today’s country is very similar to that hunted from 1858 onwards by Lord Portsmouth
Country: extends some 19 miles east to west and 20 miles north to south. Best centres are Okehampton and Eggesford. Shared with Tiverton Staghounds. Mixed farming with deciduous copses and steep valleys
