Todd turns racehorse breeder

Find out how Mark Todd and his family are enjoying new challenges back in New Zealand in Horse & Hound magazine's new series
Retired top event rider, Mark Todd, has revealed how he isfinally achieving a lifetime's ambition to breed racehorses.
Since returning to his native New Zealand for good after Sydney 2000, the dual Olympic three-day event champion has been breeding from the daughters of Sounds Like Fun – a filly who was kept in training down under, where she won 11 races.
Todd explains: "I was always very keen on racing and totally fascinated by breeding and pedigrees. I actually wanted to be a jockey, not an eventer, when I was a young lad. Believe it or not, I was the smallest in my class and didn't start to grow until I was 16!"
Horse & Hound magazine recently caught up with Todd, wife Carolyn and children Lauren and James on their 150-acre farm in the Cambridge area on the North Island.
