Oliver Townend wins World Cup qualifier at Chatsworth Horse Trials

Oliver Townend secured a prestigious win with Flint Curtis in the World Cup qualifying section at the Chatsworth Nissan International Horse Trials.
Lying 12th after dressage, Oliver posted the fastest round of the day on the cross-country and jumped clear show jumping to put the pressure on those above him.
"Flint Curtis was awesome across country," said Oliver.
Ruth Edge had led after dressage with Mr Dumbledore, only a mark ahead of Pippa Funnell with Ensign. The majority of riders jumped clear across country, but the show jumping track claimed a number of scalps.
William Fox-Pitt's clear with Parkmore Ed took him from 10th to third, while Pippa retained second with Ensign.
Oliver also posted a win in CIC*** section H. Riding Throstle Nest Saddlery's Golden Hue he was one of the fastest round to win by nearly four penalties.
Clayton Fredericks and Ben Along Time, winners of the main class here two years ago, put in a spectacular dressage test on the way to winning the second CIC***.
The advanced section went to Andrew Nicholson with his veteran Lord Killinghurst.
