Austrian event rider dies in cross-country fall

A 62-year-old Austrian rider, Franz Graf, has died at a national event at Aspang, near Vienna, Austria.
Franz and his horse, Comte Cascaduet, fell during the cross-country phase of the competition on Sunday, 6 April and Mr Graf was crushed.
Secretary-general of the Austrian Federation, Ing Franz Kager, said: “We are shocked by this deeply tragic accident. Franz was a very experienced event rider.”
