GB vaulters head to Aachen for World Equestrian Festival
24 June, 2009
A full British contingent of two senior teams, three female and two male individual vaulters and six horses, heads to Aachen this weekend for the annual CVIO at the World Equestrian Festival (26 June-5 July).
The GB squad includes the first and second-placed teams from the two British selection trials and sisters Joanne and Hannah Eccles, who competed last year at this event, as individuals.
They are joined by Lucy Phillips and her Austrian horse Pitucelli.
Both male individuals — Ross Foreman and Phillip Beasley — are making a comeback following a year off.
Joanne Eccles leads the British hopes and goes in as one of the favourites for the individual title having been unbeaten internationally so far this year.
