Royal Windsor: hunter championship
10 May, 2007
Allister Hood was presented with a dilemma when his two novice rides for Lucy Smith-Crallan looked set to clash at Royal Windsor today. So they opted to put the riding horse Tranquil Heights in the novice and Fast Track in the open hunter. The gamble paid off as Tranquil Heights took the riding horse title under Jennie Loriston-Clarke, who stepped in to judge at the very last minute.
Fast Track then stood second in the lightweight hunters to last year's victor John Dunlop's Finn McCool III, who was having his first outing this season with Guy Landau. Both lightweights held their position to take the titles.
Robert Oliver claimed the novice hunter award with Jethro Bloodstock's heavyweight hunter Masterful and Loraine Homer was in reserve with Viv Evans' Magnifire, who was Royal Dublin champion last year. Loraine hope to do ladies classes with him the future.
Jane Carter's Harley Street headed the smalls with Robert Walker after a season out with the Cheshire hunt.
