from BUNAC, Equestrian Recruitment Agencies
Combine the responsibilities of teaching horse riding, looking after horses and being a camp counsellor in America this summer on BUNAC's Summer Camp USA programme.
As a horse riding specialist, your main responsibility will be teaching skills and giving lessons to American children for several hours a day. Riding programmes vary greatly from camp to camp and may consist of simply teaching horse care and ring work, or more advanced lessons including trail rides and gymkhanas. In addition to teaching, another responsibility is looking after the horses so getting your hands dirty and maintaining the horse's stables and wellbeing for the duration of the summer is essential!
Horse riding specialists should have a passion for riding and horses, experience of teaching children and a desire to share that enthusiasm and knowledge. Teaching experience, whether it's working professionally at a riding school, or helping out at weekends at the local stables or in the Pony Club, is essential. Teaching or riding qualifications such as the Pony Club B or C award, BHS or UKCC qualifications will really strengthen an application.
Take advantage of this fun and rewarding, yet challenging opportunity to enhance your teaching skills, develop your personal experience and have a great summer!
