Think Like a Pony on the Ground: Step 1, 2 & 3 workbook

Review by Emily Bevan

Horse & Hound reviews Think Like a Pony on the Ground: Step 1, 2 & 3 workbook

These workbooks are designed for children and parents to work together to understand and respect horses and ponies.

The exercises are explained simply and concisely with a clear and colourful layout, including various photographs to ensure the book is easy to understand and appealing to children.

There are numerous exercises to complete, many of which involve practising with your human partner before attempting them on your pony.

I think the books are unique and take an interesting perspective. Although several of the exercises are extremely useful, I wonder how many children (and parents) have the time to work through one, let alone three, workbooks and just how relevant some of the exercises are to children. Surely all they want to be doing is riding and having fun?
