Prince Charles mourns death of Tigga

  • The treasured royal pet belonging to the Prince of Wales has died at the grand old age of 18

Prince Charles and his sons William and Harry, were said to be “very sad and upset” following the death of Tigga, a Jack Russell who was the prince’s constant companion since he joined the royal household as a puppy.

According to extensive British newpaper reports, Tigga, who was named after the AA Milne character, was put down by a vet at Highgrove after the terrier failed to recover from a lengthy illness.

Tigga featured prominently in Prince Charles’s 40th birthday photographs and on several family Christmas cards, including the lighthearted “Flowerpot Men” card of 1995.

The much loved terrier will be buried in the Highgrove grounds.
