Fiona Heeney qualified for HOYS after coming second in the Badgworth qualifier with her 11-year-old mare, Hortons Rose.
Fiona competed in the Newcomers show jumping final at HOYS 25 years ago and said: “I thought my competing days at HOYS were behind me!” She enjoys hunting with the Hampshire Hunt in the winter, and decided to give the Search for a Star series a go this summer. They finished third in the Wellington qualifying round. “I was very lucky to find Hortons Rose; she lives out the whole time and does everything I ask of her. “We were planning to do the Silver Fox Hunt Teams at the end of September, but I think we will have to give that a miss as it is so close to HOYS”. |
