Meet the SEIB Search for a Star pony finalists

  • Emma Stokes, 17, rode her parent’s Jackets Vaudeville into the top qualifying spot in the pony class at Badgworth.

The 14.2hh show pony gelding broke his pedal bone last year and had a season off. He came back into work this season and has qualified for the RIHS Home Produced Championship and won the novice class at Devon County.

Showing is a family affair for the Stokes family with Emma doing the riding, her mother Wendy assisting her and father John driving the family to shows.

Emma is studying Equine Business Management at Duchy College and has been trying to qualify for Search for a Star since she was riding 12.2hh ponies.

“Qualifying on my own pony means a great deal,” said Emma. “I am very pleased; it is so exciting!”
