Improved recipe for chaff

  • Baileys Golden Chaff has been reformulated with a new improved recipe This lightly molassed oat straw chaff now contains a special blend of molasses to give a sugar content of approximately 10%.

Formulated to contain less sugar than most standard types of molassed chaff, it is suitable for most types of horses and ponies.

The new blend also ensures a more even coating making the chaff easier to handle, as well as being less sticky.

    Storage advice

As with all feeds, Golden Chaff should be stored in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. This is especially important during the hot summer months as heat and sunlight can affect the structure of the feed and can result in a deterioration of the quality of the product.

The bags should be stored off the ground, ideally on pallets, and should not be stood upside down, even when unopened, as this may draw moisture into the bag through the stitch-line.

Golden Chaff is available in 12.5kg bags. Cost at around £3.90.
