Holsteiner Spring Auction: 23 March

  • The videos of the horses being sold in the Holsteiner Spring Auction On Saturday 23 March are now online. Come and see, it is worth the visit!

The first lot of this year’s spring auction will enter the auction ring at the Fritz-Thiedemann-Halle at 5pm.

A short while ago, Camelot, the top-selling horse of the 2010 spring auction hit the headlines. Non other than Peter Wylde had realized the Casall-Corrado I son’s potential and has taken the gelding to the USA.

Prior to this, Camelot, which had been discovered initially by Erwin Hesse and Lisa-Mayleen Thoma at Elmshorn, had been placed in show jumper classes to S level with Christian Hess. Christian Hess is also in the saddle of AB 19 Mahabone by Corrado I-Alcatraz and AB 19 Gipsy King by Contender-Corrado I, which were also sold through the Elmshorn auction ring and have become successful S level show jumpers.

So there is a lot of positive feedback from our auction clients, including from those who have no ambitions to compete at S level, but aim for horse showing success on a regional level.

“I think we can offer those interested in this year’s selection a rather broad range”, says auction manager Christian Poll. “We have got everything, from already successful competition horses to promising youngsters.”

The catalogue lists Holsteiner mares and geldings from four through six years old. According to Christian Poll, “some of them are top athletes, suited for show jumping as well as for eventing”, where Holsteiners are known to play an important role at national and international level.

The horses are by proven sires like Calido I, Casall, Cassini I and II, Clearway or Colman, but also younger stallions like Cassin, Clarimo or Legolas are represented by promising offspring.

During the training at Elmshorn you have got the opportunity to take your time in trying out your personal favourites. In order to arrange an individual appointment for trying out, please contact Christian Poll anytime on +49 162-2468045.
