Diddicoy is a proven competition horse with a highly successful career and his progeny are now excelling in all three disciplines, particularly in eventing and the show ring. He is a true dual purpose stallion.

He stands 16.2hh / 168cm, with 9 inches / 23 cm bone, and is graded with Sport Horse Breeders(GB), Weatherbys NTR, Anglo-European Stud Book, C.H.A.P.S./B.S.P.A. (Elite status), American Warmblood Society and Cheval de Selle French Stud Book.

“Stanhopes Diddicoy has world class show jumping blood on both sides of his pedigree”, Warmblood Fact Files.

He is also British ranked No.1 coloured dressage Horse. He is the only coloured horse to compete, and be placed, representing Great Britain in international dressage.

Diddicoy was bred in Germany, combining some of the finest of Hessen, Hanoverian, and Thoroughbred lines. He has inherited a spectacular jump from his famous jumping sire Ico, by the legendary Marco Polo. Diddicoy is out of a Gottward mare, who in turn was by Gotthard, the top ranked Hanoverian sire, who appeared in 17 pedigrees in the 1992 Olympics.

Diddicoy finished in the top 12 at Burghley Young Event Horse championships. Of the 44 finalists, he scored the highest mark for jumping style and ability, and equal top marks for dressage.

In the show ring he won many championships including Royal Windsor, Hickstead, and the Great Yorkshire, and he was supreme champion stallion at Addington.

Diddicoy was 3rd at the British Dressage advanced medium national championships. He now has more than 365 British Dressage points, including points at intermediaire level. As a six-year-old, he was third at the Blenheim Open Championships of dressage and show jumping.

Stanhopes Diddicoy is the 2006 winner of the S.H.B.(GB) Henry Tudor Fertility Cup. He will be displayed at Badminton Horse Trails by Daisy Dick, when he will be presented with the cup.

Diddicoy has already produced several advanced eventers, including ‘Peter Shambles’, bred by Daisy Dick. Out of a thoroughbred mare, having been successfully competed by Daisy, he then went on to win team Gold Medal, in the North American Young Rider Championships.

He is the sire of Stanhopes Dueka, now a graded stallion and multiple winner at the Horse of the Year Show.

His frozen semen has produced foals as far a field as America, New Zealand, and even Zimbabwe.

Diddicoy has a truly ‘golden’ temperament and very trainable brain, which he passes on to his progeny.
