Body found at Ascot Racecourse


  • Police in Berkshire have found a body in one of the car parks at Ascot Racecourse.

    A member of the public found the human remains in a small wood between car parks 3 and 3A.

    A police spokesperson says: “At the present moment we are unable to tell how the long the body has been there or whether it is male or female.

    “The body has now been removed and we are awaiting the results of the post mortem.”

    A spokesperson for Ascot Racecourse says: “I can confirm a body was found on racecourse property and the matter is now in the hands of the police.”

    More information will be released after the results of the post mortem are known but the body was found near a poster with details of a missing person, 30-year-old Louise Dawe, also known as Louise King.

    Each year, Ascot hosts 27 days of flat andjump racing action throughout the year, the most notable being Royal Ascot which takes place at the course next month from 17 to 21 June.
