What are the benefits of advertising on Horse & Hound Online?
- It is a quick and easy way to get passionate equestrians to visit your website, or any other online destination you chose (eg a survey, competition etc).
- It is very easy to set up and and with lead times less than a week your advert an be working for you very quickly.
- Contrary to rumour, even with a "Cost per thousand" deal you get what you pay for and you never pay more than you expect.

Where on Horse & Hound Online can I advertise?
- Your advert can appear on any page on the website, and just as with magazines, what you pay depends on where your advert appears.
- "Run of site" adverts can appear on any page within the site, be it the home page, news page, forum or horses for sale etc. This option means that your advert will be seen by any of our users regardless of their interest.
- Premium adverts can appear on any area of the site apart from forums.
- Forum adverts appear only on our lively discussion forum and are an ideal way of tapping into our most vocal users - great for canvassing opinion or gathering data about our users
- Trade directory adverts can appear in any individual category of the Horse & Hound Online Trade Directory.
What size of advert can I have?
- All our run of site, and premium pages can host a banner or sky scraper style advert.
- Adverts in our trade directory can be either a banner or a large button.
How do I design an advert, what do I need to supply?
- You have two options
- Either pay an agency to produce an advert for you according to our specification
- Or you can take advantage of our free advert design service. Speak to one of our sales team who can talk you through the simple process of producing one of our standard formats - banner, sky scraper or button.
How much does it cost?
Online advertising is very cost effective because you only ever pay for what you get. You can choose a fixed rate in our trade directory, or you can choose a cost per thousand option anywhere else one the site
Cost per thousand or CPM
- Cost per thousand options are charged according to the number of page views your advert receives. This literally means that you pay for the number of times your advert is seen by Horse & Hound Online users.
- You decide how many times you would like your advert to be seen, and over what period of time, and our sophisticated software does the rest.
- We guarantee that your advert will be seen at least the number of times you pay for, and if it is seen more times than agreed, you still only pay what was agreed up front. You never pay more than the agreed rate.
Rates:
- Run of site banner £25 per thousand page views
- Run of site sky scraper £30 per thousand page views
- Premium banner £35 per thousand page views
- Premium sky scraper £40 per thousand page views
- Forum banner £10 per thousand page views
- Forum sky scraper £12 per thousand page views
EG, If you book a forum sky scraper for 100,000 page views you will pay £1200 (100 x £12) and if you book a run of site banner for 100,000 page views, you will pay £2500. (i.e. 100 x £25). We will make sure your banner appears 100,000 times within the period defined by you.
Fixed position rates
- In our trade directory you can take a fixed position banner or a fixed position button in any of our trade directory classifications.
- Yours is the only advert that will occupy that position for the duration of your campaign. There will be up to three buttons on a page at any one time
Rates:
- Trade directory banner category A £750 per month (min 3 mths)
- Trade directory button category A £250 per month (min 6 mths)
- Trade directory banner category B £500 per month (min 3 mths)
- Trade directory button category B £150 per month (min 6 mths)
